EURO VI engines as a possible solution for Stage V NRMM requirement?
9 May 2017
On Tuesday May 9th, 2017, during the Maritime Industry Fair in Gorinchem, the Expertise and Innovation Centre Barging (EICB) organizes a meeting on the application of EURO VI truck engines in inland navigation. A series of experts will share valuable insights into questions such as: how feasible is this concept in terms of technology and regulation? Is the solution affordable? And for whom is it appropriate?
The use of EURO VI engines for the operation of inland waterway vessels is currently in great interest. Results of a first pilot are known and they look promising. Can these engines actually play a role for entrepreneurs who want to comply with the Non Road Mobile Machine Stage V Directive as from 2019? And what should you do as an entrepreneur to take this opportunity?
In a number of presentations the subject will be highlighted from several angles. Does Stage V allow Euro IV indeed? Can this approach also be applied to higher power configurations? Also, the market opportunities for EURO VI trucks for inland navigation will be considered. A concluding panel discussion offers the opportunity to answer questions from the public.
