H2020 Work Programme 2018 – 2020 officially launched!

On 27 October 2017, the European Commission launched the Work Programme 2018-2020 of Horizon 2020, the EU’s Research and Innovation funding programme. This Work Programme covers the budgetary years 2018, 2019 and 2020, representing an investment of around €30 billion. It is far and away the largest single integrated programme of publicly funded research and innovation during this period across the EU. The vast majority of this funding is allocated on the basis of competitive calls which are open to applications from researchers, businesses and other interested organisations located in any of the EU Member States or countries associated to Horizon 2020.

The programme includes three calls supporting the transport projects (activities funded under Societal Challenge “Smart, green and integrated transport“) in the areas of low-carbon and sustainable transport, automated road transport, electrified vehicles and safe and resilient transport systems. The total available funding is €267 million. Click here for further information.

The application period started on 31 October and the candidates will be able to submit their proposals until 30 January 2018 (two-stage call) or 4 April 2018 (single-stage call).

Of the overall €30 billion 2018-2020 in the Horizon 2020 budget, €950 million will be available to R&I projects in the transport sector, out of which €850 million will be managed by INEA. Also, €212.5 million are available to renewable energy projects, including the development of next generation biofuels and alternative renewable fuel technologies for road transport, see more info.

The info day for this call will take place on 13 December in Brussels, see link
